MEET NINA

For more than twenty years, Nina Taylor has served District 60 — in emergencies, in classrooms, and in the community. Now she’s answering a new call: to bring accountability, urgency, and heart to Montgomery.

I’m Captain Nina Taylor — a lifelong resident of District 60, firefighter, educator, and neighbor who shows up.

I didn’t come from privilege or politics. I came from a working family that believes when something’s broken, you fix it and when someone needs help, you show up.

I became a firefighter in 2003, earned my Paramedic Certification from UAB School of Medicine in 2006, and worked my way through the ranks to become Fire Captain. While serving as a Fire Lieutenant, I also taught at Midfield High School, mentoring students while continuing to protect lives on and off duty.

I raised my son in District 60. I bought my home here. My parents and most of my family still live here. When tornadoes tore through, I worked the storms on and off duty.

When COVID hit, I stayed on the front lines. Service has never been something I clock in and out of, it’s who I am!!!
